Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Accounting/Bookkeeping Assistant to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will support the accounting department with essential clerical and administrative tasks, ensuring smooth financial operations. Your energetic approach and organizational skills will help maintain accurate records, facilitate effective communication, and contribute to the overall efficiency of our office environment. This paid position offers an excellent opportunity to develop your accounting and office management skills within a collaborative setting. Duties Manage data entry and maintain accurate financial records Assist with bookkeeping tasks, including invoicing, expense tracking, and reconciling accounts Process client payrolls and payment of liabilities Assist with creating reports and year end tax documents Support office management activities such as entering data, maintaining records, and miscellaneous projects Handle front desk responsibilities, including greeting visitors, managing multi-line phone systems, and providing exceptional customer service Schedule appointments for clients when necessary Provide customer support via phone and email, ensuring professional phone etiquette and timely responses Support administrative functions like filing, data entry, and maintaining organized office systems to enhance workflow efficiency Requirements Experience with accounting software or the ability to quickly learn Strong computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment, especially during tax season Previous clerical or administrative experience Experience working with the public in a professional setting Exceptional phone etiquette and customer service skills with experience managing multi-line phone systems High level of accuracy in proofreading, data entry, and filing tasks Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently Great attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality Accounting and small office experience is a plus but not required Must be comfortable working as a team with other departments within the office
Pay:
$16.00 - $18.00 per hour
