is growing, and we are looking to add a dependable, motivated, and detail-oriented Accounting & Tax Specialist to our team. This is an additional position as we continue to grow — not a replacement position. Schedule January 1 through April 15 Approximately 40-50 hours per week , depending on workload and deadlines Hours may vary throughout tax season, with some weeks busier than others April 16 through December 31 Four-day workweek (Required 36 hours a week) Fridays off Flexible schedule and a slower pace compared to tax season Job Responsibilities This position offers a variety of accounting, tax, payroll, and client service responsibilities. You will work closely with both my team and our clients to help ensure accurate and timely financial and tax reporting.
Responsibilities may include:
Answering phones and assisting clients in person and by phone Pre-entering and assisting with preparation of individual and business tax returns Processing payroll Preparing quarterly payroll reports Performing bookkeeping and general ledger accounting Completing bank and balance sheet account reconciliations Assisting with preparation of financial statements and reports Assisting with audit procedures and supporting documentation Reviewing accounting records for accuracy and identifying items that require follow-up Communicating with clients regarding questions, missing information, payroll matters, and accounting needs Working with QuickBooks and other accounting and tax software such as Accounting CS Assisting other team members and stepping in wherever needed Qualifications Candidates must have one of the following: Minimum 2-year degree in accounting, prefer some experience in the accounting field, OR At least 5 years of relevant accounting, bookkeeping, payroll, or tax experience The ideal candidate will have: Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy Solid understanding of basic accounting principles, including debits and credits Experience with bookkeeping, payroll, reconciliations, or tax preparation QuickBooks experience preferred Excellent communication and people skills Confidence working directly with clients Ability to organize and prioritize multiple responsibilities Ability to work independently while also being a strong team player A proactive, problem-solving mindset Dependability and a strong sense of responsibility Willingness to learn and help wherever needed A positive attitude and desire to be part of a supportive team Strong computer skills and confidence learning new technology and software Comfort working in a technology-driven office and troubleshooting basic computer or software issues when needed Our firm is looking for someone who wants more than just a job.
