Financial Assistant

Must meet the following criteria:

be at least 18 years old, have a high school diploma or equivalent, be able to type 40 wpm, have a working knowledge of Microsoft Word, be able to multi-task, be self-motivated, able to work well with others or alone, and pass a background check. MULES certification is preferred but not necessary. Must be able to work Mon-Fri from 8am - 4pm. Primary responsibilities of this position will be processing bond paperwork to the appropriate court, issuing debit cards and/or checks from the Keefe software, answer inmate request using Keefe system. Check new visitor accounts in MULES, setup and print inmate visitation list for the day, fill inmate and staff vending machines, process/track medical cost incurred by the inmates, approve invoices for payment. Monthly billing for out of county holds, monthly billing for USM for transport and housing, write and mail checks to inmates no longer in custody. Schedule attorney visitation in person and on Zoom. Computerized collection of fingerprints for Conceal and Carry Weapons permits, court ordered fingerprints, sexual offender fingerprints, and DNA collection of sexual offenders. Other duties will consist of filing inmate records and other duties as assigned. Here at Cole County Sheriff's Office we have a safe work environment.
