Job Description

We are seeking a detailed-oriented and motivated Accounting Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate must possess a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, with experience in various accounting environments. This role will serve as a member of the organization by assisting the Controller with accounting functions for multiple companies and other administrative task related to real estate transactions and financing.
Key Responsibilities:
Recording daily transactions and journal entries in QuickBooks accounting software Processing invoices and ensuring accurate billing and payment records Reconciling bank statements, credit card accounts and expense reports Organizing and maintaining financial documents for audits and reviews Communicating with vendors and internal teams to resolve billing or payment discrepancies Assisting in preparing balance sheets, income statements and budget summaries Supporting month-end and year-end closing procedures Monitoring budgets and tracking departmental expenses Assisting with tax payments and filing Maintaining a financial filing system Manage special projects as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications:
Associate's degree in Accounting or related field is required. Knowledge of basic accounting principles and financial documentation Experience in general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, and financial reporting is essential. Proficiency with accounting and bookkeeping software such as QuickBooks preferred Attention to detail in processing invoices and maintaining records Data entry accuracy and familiarity with spreadsheets and formulas using Excel Mathematical and analytical skills for reconciliations and reporting Ability to analyze data, identify discrepancies, and develop solutions. Organizational and time management abilities Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors. Integrity and discretion when handling the company's financial data
