JOB DESCRIPTION MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Associate's Degree in accounting, finance, business or a related field with three (3) to five (5) years of experience in accounting or an accounting related field including cash management, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and/or general ledger processing.

JOB PURPOSE AND SCOPE
Performs a variety of entry to intermediate-level, accounting clerical duties related to accounts payable, journal entries, account reconciliations, etc. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Works under moderate supervision. A certain degree of analysis and judgment is required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Performs activities related to the accounts payable function, including processing, posting and corrections. Helps ensure vendor payment records are in order for proper retention and tax reporting. Prepares reconciliation of key accounts for the association's bank accounts, fixed assets, and other related reconciliation dependent accounts. Performs other analyses as directed; research financial records to resolve problems; performs accounting journal entries; assists in preparing schedules and analyzes and drafts financial statements of fund activity. Operates specific accounting system applications for data entry, information retrieval and/or inquiry. Supports the efforts of the records retention function and assists with scanning and the organization of documentation to be retained. May process travel and mileage reports, including the clearing of reconciliation accounts related to this activity. May assist the team with patronage processing, as well as work with accounting staff and branch personnel to clear outstanding payments. Assists senior-level accounting staff as needed by providing assistance to association branch offices in the use and maintenance of the general ledger and loan accounting system.
SKILL REQUIREMENTS
General knowledge of accounting/financial systems. Specialized knowledge of accounting/finance principles. Skilled in oral and written communication. Basic skill level in Microsoft Office applications. Ability to perform accounting data entry, information retrieval and/or inquiry under close supervision.
PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES
Ability to sit for long periods of time. Ability to stand for limited periods of time. Ability to climb stairs multiple times during the day with ease. Frequent finger/hand manipulation (e.g. keyboard, office equipment, small hand tools, etc.). Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling while exerting up to 50 pounds of force.
