Position Overview:
The Bookkeeper is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the financial operations of the country club. This role ensures timely processing of accounts payable and receivable, payroll, bank reconciliations, and general ledger entries, while supporting the management team in making informed financial decisions. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, trustworthy, and experienced in handling finances within a membership-based or hospitality setting.
Key Responsibilities:
    Financial Recordkeeping:
    Maintain accurate general ledger entries, reconcile accounts, and track club expenses and revenue.
      Process Daily Cash Revenue:
      Receive daily cash bags and receipts from six terminals, auditing and processing cash to prepare for bi-weekly deposit.
        Process Remote Check Deposits:
        Process account receivable checks via remote deposit.
          Accounts Payable/Receivable:
          Process vendor invoices, and other financial transactions promptly and accurately.
            Payroll General Ledger Posting:
            Process general ledger postings for payroll bi-monthly.
              Tip Processing:
              Process daily tip entries for payroll from daily cash deposits.
                Process Inventory Reconciliation:
                Maintain accurate general ledger entries monthly for Food & Beverage, Pro Shop and Chemical inventories.
                  Monitor ATM Balance:
                  Monitor ATM to ensure minimum balance is maintained.
                    Banking & Reconciliation:
                    Reconcile bank statements, credit card statements, and other financial accounts on a regular basis.
                      Financial Reporting:
                      Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
                        Compliance & Record Retention:
                        Ensure financial records comply with applicable accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal policies.
                        Qualifications:
                        Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; Bachelor's degree preferred.
                        • Minimum of 3 years of bookkeeping experience, preferably in a hospitality, membership club, or country club environment.
                        • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, ForeUp Software, HomeBase payroll software) and Microsoft Office Suite.
                        • Strong understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
                        • Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and accuracy.
                        • Strong communication skills and ability to maintain confidentiality.
