JOB SUMMARY
The Accounting and Accounts Payable Specialist plays a vital role in supporting the financial integrity and operational effectiveness of North Dakota State College of Science. This position is responsible for managing the full accounts payable cycle, maintaining supplier information, processing travel and expense reimbursements, and assisting with tax reporting and year-end financial processes. Working closely with campus departments, vendors, and Business Affairs staff, the Accounting and Accounts Payable Specialist ensures that financial transactions are processed accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with applicable policies and regulations. The successful candidate will be a detail-oriented professional who values customer service, embraces continuous improvement, and contributes to a collaborative team dedicated to responsible stewardship of college resources. Minimum Requirements Associate degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field Minimum of 2 years related experience Proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications, especially Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and accuracy in data entry and analysis Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet established deadlines Effective written and verbal communication skills Preferred Qualifications Experience in higher education. Familiarity with PeopleSoft financial systems or similar ERP financial systems. Two or more years of experience in accounts payable, accounting, or financial operations. Experience processing travel and expense reimbursements and ensuring compliance with applicable policies and regulations. Experience managing supplier/vendor records, including W-9 collection, ACH setup, and 1099 reporting
Additional Information SALARY:
$47,000-$52,000, commensurate with education and experience
