Accounting & Payroll Specialist

Our client, a well-established Electric company in Lincoln, is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Payroll & Accounting Specialist to join their team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys the consistency of accounting work, takes pride in accuracy, and thrives in managing the essential day-to-day financial functions of a business. This is not a stepping-stone role—we're looking for someone who values stability and enjoys the routine of weekly and monthly accounting responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage payroll taxes, filings, and compliance requirements Handle employee deductions including garnishments, child support, and benefits Maintain accurate payroll records and ensure compliance with federal and state regulations Assist with job costing, labor tracking, and basic construction-related accounting Support weekly and monthly accounting processes including reconciliations

Qualifications:

Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting (preferred) 3+ years of experience in payroll and accounting (construction experience strongly preferred) Strong knowledge of payroll processing, payroll taxes, and deductions Experience handling garnishments, child support, and related compliance Familiarity with construction payroll, job costing, or certified payroll is a plus High attention to detail and strong organizational skills Ability to work independently and manage recurring deadlines
