Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Assistant Bookkeeper to join our dynamic finance team. In this vital role, you will support the accounting department by assisting with day-to-day bookkeeping tasks, ensuring accurate financial record-keeping, and maintaining compliance with accounting standards. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop your expertise in accounting systems and financial processes within a collaborative environment. The ideal candidate is energetic, eager to learn, and possesses a strong foundation in accounting principles. Responsibilities Assist with maintaining accurate general ledger entries using accounting software such as QuickBooks Online, Xero, Sage, and other financial systems Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions efficiently and accurately Perform bank reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations to ensure data integrity Prepare journal entries, including debits & credits, for various financial transactions Support payroll processing activities and ensure compliance with relevant regulations Conduct account analysis and account reconciliation to verify accuracy of financial data Assist with financial report writing, budgeting, and supporting GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) compliance Maintain organized records of invoices, receipts, and other financial documents for audit readiness Skills Strong proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, QuickBooks Online, Xero, Sage, and other financial software platforms Knowledge of corporate accounting principles, non-profit accounting standards, and technical accounting concepts Experience with double entry bookkeeping, journal entries, account reconciliation, and general ledger accounting Familiarity with payroll processing, tax experience, and bank reconciliation procedures Ability to work effectively with spreadsheets for data analysis and reporting purposes Understanding of GAAP standards and financial concepts including debits & credits and account analysis Excellent attention to detail along with strong organizational skills such as 10 key typing and document management Effective communication skills for supporting internal teams and external auditors This role is paid and offers a chance to grow your career in finance by gaining hands-on experience with diverse accounting tasks.
