Job Title:
Accounting Assistant / CFO Assistant Position Summary We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to support the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of a growing real estate management company overseeing approximately 2,000 multifamily residential units. This role provides day-to-day accounting and administrative support, assists with financial reporting, payroll, reconciliations, and accounts payable, and helps ensure accurate and timely financial operations across the property portfolio. Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the CFO with daily accounting and administrative functions.
  • Process bi-weekly payroll and maintain payroll records while ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Coordinate with HR regarding employee onboarding, terminations, benefits, and payroll changes.
  • Process vendor invoices and prepare accounts payable for approval.
  • Record financial transactions and maintain accurate accounting records.
  • Perform bank and credit card reconciliations.
  • Assist with monthly financial reporting and month-end close.
  • Prepare and maintain spreadsheets, schedules, and supporting documentation.
  • Monitor vendor statements and resolve billing discrepancies.
  • Assist with tenant account reconciliations and other accounting inquiries.
  • Maintain organized electronic financial records and documentation.
  • Prepare reports and schedules requested by ownership, lenders, auditors, and outside accountants.
  • Assist with annual audits, tax preparation, and compliance reporting.
  • Coordinate with property managers and vendors regarding financial matters.
  • Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned by the CFO. Qualifications
  • 2-5 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience, preferably in real estate or property management.
  • Experience processing payroll and maintaining payroll records.
  • Strong knowledge of accounts payable, reconciliations, payroll, and basic accounting principles.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with property management or accounting software (Yardi, AppFolio, MRI, or similar) and payroll software is preferred.
  • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive financial and employee information. Preferred Skills
  • Experience in multifamily property management accounting.
  • Familiarity with payroll compliance, bank reconciliations, vendor management, and financial reporting.
  • Strong Excel skills, including formulas and pivot tables.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with the CFO.
Work Environment This is a full-time, in-office position supporting the CFO in the financial operations of a multifamily real estate management company with a portfolio of approximately 2,000 residential units. The ideal candidate is dependable, organized, and committed to maintaining accurate financial records while supporting a collaborative accounting team.
Pay:
$60,000.00
