Posting Details Posting Summary Position Title PT Bookstore Accounting Assistant Job Category Part-Time Staff Salary Range $20 per hour Position Type Part Time Department Bookstore Job Summary Under the direction of the Director of Auxiliary Enterprises, the Part-Time Accounting Assistant is responsible for processing and verifying merchandise receipts and invoices for payment. This role includes reconciling vendor credit memos and statements, processing daily cash register reports, and preparing bank deposits. Additional responsibilities include charge card reconciliation, maintaining safe and petty cash transactions, and collaborating closely with the Accounting Department to ensure timely and accurate vendor payments. The position also provides coverage for Campus Store Assistants as needed and may require availability to work evening shifts on a rotating schedule. Qualifications - Education Must have a HS degree. Two-year college degree preferred. Qualifications - Experience Three years in an accounting position, preferably including experience in a retail environment. Qualifications - Skills Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work in an organized, deadline-oriented fashion. Excellent memory and math skills. Self-motivated; works independently; computer skills strongly desired, understanding of retail terminology and concepts a strong plus. Work Hours Work hours will include occasional evening shifts on a rotating basis, as well as occasional Saturdays. Depending on the needs of the Campus Store, hours will be scheduled within these times up to a maximum of 24.5 hours a week:
