Bookkeeper

Description We are looking for an experienced Bookkeeper to assist with a short-term accounting project in Santa Fe, New Mexico. This contract position involves cleaning up financial records, addressing a backlog of bookkeeping tasks, and supporting overdue tax preparation efforts. The role requires expertise in QuickBooks Online and a detail-oriented approach to organizing financial data.

Responsibilities:

• Perform comprehensive cleanup of financial records to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Utilize QuickBooks Online to manage and organize bookkeeping tasks efficiently.
• Support the preparation of overdue tax documents by reconciling accounts and verifying data.
• Oversee accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes to maintain financial accuracy.
• Conduct bank reconciliations to align financial records with statements.
• Collaborate with the client to address outstanding accounting issues and implement solutions.
• Ensure compliance with financial policies and standards throughout the project.
• Provide regular progress updates to the client and recommend strategies for improved financial organization.
• Assist with other accounting-related tasks as needed to support the project's completion. Requirements
• Proven experience in bookkeeping with a strong understanding of accounting principles.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks Online for financial management and reporting.
• Demonstrated ability to handle accounts payable and receivable processes.
• Experience performing bank reconciliations with attention to detail.
• Strong organizational skills to manage and prioritize multiple tasks effectively.
• Familiarity with tax preparation processes and financial compliance.
• Excellent communication skills for collaborating with clients and stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
