Job Description

Full Job Description Wound Care Experts is currently seeking a Medical Billing Specialist to join our team.

Medical, Dental, Vision 401K and contribution match after 1 year of employment PTO Paid holidays Summary of position: Responsible for posting, processing charges, and handling the A/R that corresponds to the charges being entered. Follow up with insurance companies on denials, underpayments and work monthly account receivable reports provided by management.
Job Duties:
Monitor and follow up on outstanding insurance claims for multiple providers. Conduct duties in a professional manner and with a sense of urgency Submit billing data to the appropriate insurance providers Resolve payment denials Achieve maximum reimbursement for services provided Prioritize accounts based on aging reports and payer deadlines. Manage patient statements and collections Must have a working knowledge of Nevada insurances and understand the benefits of insurances inside and out. Call insurance companies to research claims, dispute denials and/or underpayments, submit appeals and obtain payments. Answer questions from patients, clerical staff, and insurance companies.
Education:
High School Diploma or GED 3-5 years' experience in a medical billing /healthcare industry
Performance Requirements:
Experience in medical billing/collection and coding practices. AdvancedMD experience a plus. Familiar with
CPT/ICD-10
codes. Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Outlook, and the ability to operate basic office equipment. Ability to read and comprehend explanation of benefits (EOBs), post payments to account, various billing functions. Must be well organized and detail oriented. Excellent phone etiquette and oral communication skills.
Physical Demands:
Working in an office environment and requires sitting for a long period of time. Some bending, lifting, and stretching required. Working under stress and use of telephone required. Manual dexterity required for use of calculator and computer keyboard. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. Position requires the ability to work in stressful situations.
