Job Description

Join our team as an Assistant Bookkeeper and become a vital part of our operations! This energetic role offers an exciting opportunity to support our accounting department by managing essential bookkeeping tasks, ensuring accuracy, and maintaining smooth financial processes. If you're passionate about numbers, detail-oriented, and eager to grow your expertise in accounting software and financial concepts, this position is perfect for you! You will work closely with senior accountants to uphold the integrity of our financial records and contribute to the overall success of our organization. Assist in maintaining accurate general ledger accounting by preparing journal entries and performing account analysis. Support accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely processing of invoices and payments. Conduct bank reconciliations and account reconciliations to verify data accuracy across various financial statements. Help with balance sheet reconciliation and general ledger reconciliation to ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles). Contribute to financial report writing by compiling data for internal reports and supporting budgeting activities. Proven experience with bookkeeping, accounting software (QuickBooks, Xero, Sage), or related financial tools. Strong understanding of double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, journal entries, and general ledger accounting. Knowledge of financial concepts including account reconciliation, bank reconciliation, accounts payable/receivable, and balance sheet reconciliation. Familiarity with GAAP standards and technical accounting practices. Ability to perform 10 key typing accurately for data entry tasks. Experience with governmental or non-profit accounting is a plus but not required. Excellent attention to detail combined with strong organizational skills; ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
