full-time A mid-sized construction company in New York City is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to oversee the full scope of union payroll operations. Key Responsibilities Administer full-cycle union payroll for 60+ employees Process and reconcile union remittances, certified payrolls, and prevailing wage reports Manage workers' compensation claims, payroll audits, and compliance reporting (OSHA, EEOC, OCIP/CCIP) Ensure compliance with NYS unemployment and payroll tax regulations Handle job costing, payroll reconciliations, and identify/correct discrepancies within Sage 300 Generate and format Excel reports (tables, payroll packages, data analysis) Support payroll system transition (experience with ADP Workforce Now is a plus) Assist with payroll audits, garnishments, benefit remittances, and collaborate with leadership on payroll compliance Qualifications 3+ years of experience in construction bookkeeping Hands-on experience with Sage 300 or Timberline Exceptional attention to detail, analytical mindset, and ability to work independently Benefits Fully paid health insurance (individual and family coverage) 401(k) with 5% company match Flexible time off
