Role Description The Bookkeeper is a full-time, on-site role based in East Syracuse, NY, responsible for maintaining accurate financial records to support daily operations in a manufacturing environment. Day-to-day responsibilities include recording and reconciling transactions, preparing and posting journal entries, managing accounts payable and accounts receivable, and assisting with payroll and expense tracking. The role also involves supporting the preparation of financial statements, monitoring cash flow, and ensuring compliance with company policies and relevant regulations. The Bookkeeper will work closely with management and external partners to provide timely financial information, respond to inquiries, and assist with periodic audits and reporting. This position requires strong attention to detail, integrity in handling financial data, and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced production setting. Qualifications Proficiency in bookkeeping and journal entries (accounting) to maintain accurate and organized financial records. Experience working with financial statements and basic finance concepts to support reporting and decision-making. Hands-on experience with accounting software and related tools (e.g., QuickBooks, ERP systems, Excel) for daily transaction processing. Strong numerical accuracy, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills in managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, and reconciliations. Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments. Prior bookkeeping or accounting experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment is preferred. Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information responsibly and meet deadlines consistently.
