ADMINSTRATIVE ASSISTANT/BOOKKEEPER PART TIME/HOURLY POSITION - 15
hours per week / M-F / $18 - $20 per hour Reports to the Executive Director The Cunneen-Hackett Arts Center, a 40+ year old not-for-profit arts organization, located at 9 and 12 Vassar Street in Poughkeepsie, NY is seeking an experienced Administrative Assistant/Bookkeeper. Candidates should have an excellent phone manner, be customer service oriented and able to problem solve independently. The position requires flexibility, organizational skills and teamwork. Candidates should be able to quickly familiarize themselves with the mission and goals of CHAC and be confident in articulating it. Advanced knowledge of bookkeeping procedures and accounting protocol is necessary, as well as advanced training in the method of Quickbooks/ Quickbooks Not for Profit and Bonterra (Network for Good). Administrative Assistant Duties include but are not limited to: Reception/phone/message recording & follow-up Liaison with tenants & renters when needed Payment Collection and Receipt Notation of Office and Venue Space Rentals Data entry for mailing lists, donor lists, etc. Special Event/Box office set up & break-down Attend meetings or events Scheduling of studio, reception or parlor use Assist gallery installations General office work, filing, copying, mailing, etc. Fill in for Director during vacations or planned absence for meetings, etc. Be responsible for the occasional opening & lock-up of #9 & #12 buildings Bookkeeping responsibilities include: Data entry/paper records/back up Cash reconciliation & deposits Accounts receivable Accounts payable Payroll Generation of reports (weekly & monthly) Required quarterly Tax reports Liaison with CPA Accounting firm engaged for year-end filing Application deadline: December 31, 2026 Mail or email a resume, 3 references, and a cover letter that references your previous bookkeeping and administrative assistant experience to: Elinor Levy, Chair Executive Search Committee/Board Chair Cunneen-Hackett Arts Center, Inc. 9 Vassar Street Poughkeepsie, NY 12601 info@cunneen-hackett.org Position starts March 15, 2027.
