Job Description

Description We are looking for an Accounting Clerk to join a team in Rochester, New York in a Contract to Permanent position. This opportunity is well suited for someone who enjoys hands-on accounting work, adapts easily to different business environments, and wants to keep building practical experience across core financial processes. The role offers exposure to a range of day-to-day accounting activities while providing a path toward long-term career growth and stability.
Responsibilities:
  • Process vendor invoices accurately and ensure payments are recorded and issued within established timelines.
  • Support customer billing and cash application activities by maintaining accurate accounts receivable records and resolving routine discrepancies.
  • Enter financial data into accounting systems with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Assist with account reconciliations and help maintain reliable general ledger support documentation.
  • Review transactions for completeness and follow up with internal teams or external contacts when information is missing or unclear.
  • Use accounting platforms such as QuickBooks and similar systems to manage daily clerical accounting tasks efficiently.
  • Organize financial records and documentation to support reporting, audits, and month-end close activities. Requirements
  • 1 to 3 years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or a closely related finance support role.
  • Working knowledge of accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, with basic familiarity with general ledger concepts.
  • Experience using Excel and at least one common accounting software platform, such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, or Sage.
  • Strong data entry skills with consistent accuracy in handling financial information.
  • Excellent organizational skills and close attention to detail in a fast-moving work environment.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills for working with colleagues, vendors, and customers.
  • Ability to learn quickly, adjust to new workflows, and maintain a positive, detail-focused approach.
