Job Description
Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to support financial recordkeeping and day-to-day accounting activities for a property-focused organization in Rye, New York. This position plays an important role in maintaining accurate books, processing transactions, and helping teams track operating expenses and payments across assigned assets. The ideal candidate is comfortable working with QuickBooks, handling payables and receivables, and completing reconciliations with a high level of accuracy.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate financial records for assigned properties and related business activities, ensuring transactions are entered completely and on time.
- Process vendor payments, verify supporting documentation, and monitor accounts payable activity to keep obligations current.
- Prepare and issue invoices, track incoming payments, and follow up on outstanding balances as part of accounts receivable management.
- Reconcile bank accounts and other financial statements regularly, identifying discrepancies and resolving issues promptly.
- Assist with budget tracking, expense monitoring, and financial reporting to support operational and capital planning.
- Review invoices and help prepare accruals, reclasses, and variance-related reporting for internal stakeholders.
- Coordinate with property operations, finance, and external vendors to ensure financial data aligns with maintenance, project, and tenant-related activity.
- Support record organization and documentation for audits, month-end close, and ongoing accounting compliance. Requirements
- Proven experience in bookkeeping or a closely related accounting support role.
- Hands-on proficiency with QuickBooks in a business environment.
- Working knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger processes.
- Experience performing bank reconciliations with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain accuracy in a deadline-driven setting.
- Strong organizational and communication skills for working across internal teams and external contacts.
- Proficiency with standard office and accounting software, including spreadsheet-based reporting.
