Job Description
About Us C. Michael Exteriors, Inc. is a home improvement contractor based in Syracuse, specializing in replacement windows, siding, and bath remodeling. We serve homeowners across Central and Upstate New York, with active markets in Syracuse, Rochester, Watertown, and Binghamton. We're looking for an organized, detail-oriented Bookkeeper to own our day-to-day financial operations and keep our records accurate, current, and audit-ready as the business continues to grow. What You'll Do Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, including vendor bills, customer invoicing, and collections. Perform regular bank, credit card, and general ledger account reconciliations. Track job costs by project and support progress billing and work-in-progress reporting. Reconcile consumer financing and lender funding against completed jobs. Process subcontractor payments, maintain certificates of insurance, and prepare year-end 1099 filings. Apply New York State sales tax rules correctly to capital improvements vs repairs, and maintain ST-124 capital improvement certificates on file. Assist with payroll processing and tax compliance preparation. Produce monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for management review. Work directly with our outside CPA during tax season and audits. What You Bring Required 3+ years of bookkeeping experience, including full-cycle AP/AR and month-end close. Proficiency with QuickBooks (online and desktop) and Microsoft Excel. Solid working knowledge of GAAP fundamentals. Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills. Comfort handling confidential financial information independently. Preferred Experience in construction, home improvement, or another project-based responsbility. Familiarity with job costing, progress billing, lien waivers, and subcontractor compliance . Working knowledge of NYS sales tax as it applies to contractors. Experience supporting a business operating in multiple markets. Associate degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration (equivalent experience considered) What we offer
Salary :
$52,000-$65,000, depending on experience and scope of prior responsiblityRetirement:
