Job Description

THE JESS HOWARD ELECTRIC COMPANY IS A FAMILY-OWNED BUSINESS THAT HAS BEEN DOING ALL PHASES OF ELECTRICAL CONTRACTING WORK SINCE 1945.
 We have established lasting relationships with many residential, commercial, and industrial utility customers. We are a unique electrical contractor due to the fact that we perform so many different types of electrical work. We perform residential, commercial, and industrial electrical work, including sports lighting, airport lighting, traffic signal, underground systems, pole-line, and utility work. With over 120 employees and 300 pieces of equipment, there is no job too small or too large for Jess Howard Electric Company.
Position Overview:
The Accounts Payable Specialist supports day-to-day accounting operations by processing invoices, communicating with vendors, maintaining accurate records, and assisting with reconciliations and system reporting.
Skills and Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent required Strong organizational and time management skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Experience with Sage 300 is a plus Ability to work independently and collaboratively in an office setting
Responsibilities Include:
Review invoices for accuracy, proper documentation, and required approvals Process payments in accordance with company procedures Manage vendor communication via phone and email Investigate and resolve invoice, payment, and purchase order discrepancies promptly Maintain organized and accurate files and documentation Support continuous improvement efforts within the Finance Department Perform additional duties as assigned

SALARY RANGE
$25+ / hr, negotiable based on experience
