The Treasurer's Office is seeking a detail-oriented professional to join our team and support the essential financial operations that serve our community every day. From processing tax payments and maintaining financial records to assisting residents and ensuring accurate accounting practices, this position plays a vital role in safeguarding public funds and delivering exceptional customer service.
General duties include:
collecting and processing tax payments; preparing, printing, and mailing tax bills; greeting guests and responding to general inquiries from the public; balancing cash drawer and depositing cash collected; reconciling funds; maintaining accurate records in various databases, to include the County's real estate system; calculating ACH payments and maintaining accurate records for each parcel and account number collected via ACH; preparing delinquent pay plans; tracking and maintaining records of collections, settlements, and address changes; maintaining the general ledger; performing monthly bank account reconciliation; filing and archiving documents; ordering office supplies; and performing other related duties. Completion of a secondary education and at least six months experience; or any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Strong attention to detail and accuracy required. Must be trustworthy and demonstrate sound judgement and decision-making skills. Customer service orientation is a must. Proficiency with financial systems and technology a plus. Must be capable of passing a comprehensive pre-employment background investigation.

The employee has exposure to chemical compounds found in an office environment (e.g., toner, correction fluid, etc.); is exposed to possible injury due to unclean or unsanitary conditions; has contact with potentially violent or emotionally distraught persons; has exposure to hazardous driving conditions; ascends and/or descends ladders, stairs, or scaffolds; has to work irregular hours.

In accordance with the U.S. Department of Labor physical demands strength ratings, this is considered sedentary work.(1) Collects and process tax payments; responds to general inquiries from the public; balances cash drawer; receives and verifies pay-ins; balances monies and posts funds; scans checks into electronic checking system daily; deposits cash collected daily; maintain accurate records in the County's real estate system; performs routine errands as needed (e.g. picks up mail from the post office, makes deposits at the bank); maintains databases and performs a variety of record-keeping duties; reconciles accounts. (2) Prints and prepares tax bills; create coupon books; calculate ACH payments and maintain accurate records for each parcel and account number collected via ACH; prepares delinquent pay plans; tracks and maintains records of collections, settlements, and address changes. Works on special projects, as assigned. (3) Maintains the general ledger; performs monthly bank account reconciliation; files and archives documents; orders office supplies; performs administrative duties related to the postage machine. (4) Maintains required licensures, certification, and continuing education requirements, if any. (5) Meets all job safety requirements and all applicable safety standards that pertain to essential functions. (6) Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance. Works collaboratively with others.
