Job Description
GENERAL SUMMARY
The Accounts Receivable Billing Specialist is a motivated individual that ensures accurate and timely posting of payments for our home health, personal services and hospice services. The Accounts Receivable Billing Specialist is responsible for making sure payments are based off our specific contracts. Essential Duties and accountabilities Ensures timely, accurate posting of commercial payments for home health/hospice & personal services Make solid judgment and adhere to all policies ensuring the protection of confidential information related to patient demographics, medical information, diagnosis codes, PHI according to both internal and Federal HIPPA regulations and guidelines Retrieves electronic remittances (MyAbility, Via ZirMed and other electronic avenues) Conducts research for outstanding claims (Correct insurance, PCR, Proper payment according to contract) Initiates adjustment and write off request Run daily, weekly, monthly reports as required Medical Record requests Assist with insurance verification Assist with authorizations Assist the Commercial and Medicare Billing Specialist Assist with maintaingin physicians licenses Assist with PCR Ensures effective ccommunication and positive working relationships with personnel from all areas of the agency to maintain coordination of interrelated activites Performs job in compliance with agency policies and procedures and according to accepted standards of practice All other duties as assignedSPECIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
Knowledgeable user of computer systems and application to include Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Healthwise and email A keen eye for details Ability to work methodically and meet deadlines Organization and time management skills Ability to maintain flexibility in meeting department and individual workload demandsEDUCATION
High School diploma orGED EXPERIENCE
2+ years of proven experience working in depth with Manage Care, Medicare, Medicaid and other regulatory programs Demonstrate knowledge of appropriate skills for communicating with all individuals through verbal and written toolsCOMPETENCIES
