Accounts Payable Clerk Full-Time or Part-Time | In-Person | Brookings, Oregon 20-40 Hours Per Week (Flexible — see below) Position Overview Tidewater Contractors, Inc. is a well-established construction and civil contracting company based in Brookings, Oregon. We are looking for a detail-oriented and dependable Accounts Payable Clerk to join our collaborative office team. This role sits at the center of our financial operations — working cross-functionally with Project Managers, field crews, and company leadership to keep our AP process running accurately and on time. We offer flexible scheduling to fit the right candidate: 20 hours per week for those seeking a slightly reduced schedule, or up to 40 hours per week guaranteed by cross-training and assisting in other departments. Our Payroll Manager is retiring at the beginning of next year. For the right candidate, there may be an exciting opportunity to grow into a dual AP & Payroll role. Taking on that expanded responsibility would come with significantly increased earning potential — a meaningful step forward for someone ready to grow with us. Key Responsibilities Process subcontractor and vendor invoices accurately and in a timely manner Code invoices to the correct jobs and cost categories; requires a basic level of analysis to ensure proper job cost allocation Run check cycles and manage payment scheduling Perform data entry and maintenance in Viewpoint by Trimble (our construction ERP) Communicate with Project Managers and field personnel to verify invoice details and resolve discrepancies Assist with vendor relationship management and respond to payment inquiries Support other accounting and administrative functions as needed, including potential cross-department coverage Maintain organized and audit-ready AP files and records Qualifications Experience in accounts payable or general accounting — construction industry experience is a strong plus Familiarity with Viewpoint by Trimble or a similar construction ERP is highly valued; we are willing to train the right candidate Solid data entry skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative office environment with frequent interaction across departments Ability to read and interpret invoices, purchase orders, and basic job cost reports Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines Professional communication skills — written and verbal Self-motivated with a willingness to pitch in wherever needed Compensation & Benefits Pay rate of $21.00 - $24.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications Flexible schedule: minimum of 20 hours/week available, but 40 hours/week guaranteed through cross-department involvement Significant earning potential growth is available for the candidate who steps into a dual AP & Payroll role Health insurance, life insurance and vision for employees with 100% premiums paid by employer Health insurance dependent coverage at affordable cost to employees, handled through Section 125 deductions resulting in tax benefits Health savings account (HSA) option Dental Insurance with 50% of employee premiums paid by employer Dental Insurance dependent coverage at affordable cost to employee, handled through Section 125 deductions resulting in tax benefits 401(k) with employer match of up to 4% and annual potential profit-sharing contribution Holiday pay Potential for paid time off after a year of service Standard Oregon sick time bank Stable, long-term opportunity with a well-established company Equal Opportunity Employer This contractor and subcontractor abides by the requirements of 41 CFR 60-1.4(a), 60-300.5(a) and 60-741.5(a).
