Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Bookkeeper to join our dynamic finance team. In this vital role, you will support the accurate and efficient management of financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and organizational policies. Your expertise in various accounting software and financial concepts will help maintain the integrity of our financial data, contributing to sound decision-making and organizational success. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in corporate, non-profit, and governmental accounting environments while working with a collaborative team dedicated to excellence. Duties Assist with day-to-day bookkeeping tasks including data entry, journal entries, and account reconciliations using software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or Quicken Support accounts payable and accounts receivable processes by verifying invoices, processing payments, and managing billing records Conduct bank reconciliations and general ledger account analysis to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data Prepare financial reports, statements, and summaries in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and organizational standards Assist with payroll processing, tax filings, and compliance documentation for various clients or departments Perform balance sheet reconciliation and general ledger reconciliation to verify account balances Support budgeting activities by tracking expenses against budgets and preparing relevant reports Contribute to maintaining organized records for governmental or non-profit accounting requirements Experience Proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles, preferably within corporate, non-profit, or governmental sectors Hands-on experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar platforms Strong understanding of financial concepts including debits & credits, double-entry bookkeeping, journal entries, and account analysis Familiarity with GAAP standards and technical accounting practices is highly desirable Experience with bank reconciliation, account reconciliation, and general ledger accounting processes Knowledge of payroll procedures and tax compliance is a plus Ability to perform 10-key typing efficiently for data entry tasks Excellent attention to detail combined with strong organizational skills to manage multiple accounts accurately Join us in a role that empowers you to grow your accounting expertise while making a meaningful impact! Pay:
$17.00 - $21.00 per hour
