Job DescriptionJob Description Job purpose The position of Bookkeeper serves to assist with the day-to-day operation and maintenance of the financial records for multiple companies within MAF Hospitality. This position requires successfully being able to work on multiple projects for the companies in an organized and timely fashion. Qualifications Minimum 5 years bookkeeping experience Good knowledge of standard accounting practices Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks Strong attention to detail Working knowledge of computers, 2 years' experience in QuickBooks, MS Office and point of sale systems are required. Must possess the ability to learn new software programs as needed; openness to learning new software, including hospitality point of sale systems Able to establish and maintain effective client relationships and communicate efficiently
Duties and Responsibilities Bookkeeping Tasks:
Responsible for submitting payroll to the company's payroll processor once completed and approved by HR Performs monthly bank reconciliations Responsible for accounts payable Filing bills, payments, invoices, purchase orders, etc. Makes regular sales tax payments to the state Assist in reporting wine sales to
PLCB & TTB
Entering sales from POS system into QuickBooks Maintains open line of communication with accountant and assures reporting is up to date
General Office Tasks:
Maintain records of insurance requirements and process monthly billings from insurance providers. Opening mail and distributing properly Ordering office supplies Other related duties as assigned Key Performance Indicators Accuracy in all aspects of bookkeeping roles and responsibilities: payroll, payables, receivables, sales tax, bank reconciliations, PLCB reporting Timeliness in completing all required financial reports Maintains accurate and complete financial files Maintains organized, accurate and up to date employee files Is a strong team player and maintains open communication between all departments Benefits Competitive compensation package Medical insurance options Paid holidays and vacation Company discounts Clear path for growth and career advancement Excellent opportunity with growing brand Physical requirements This position requires the manual dexterity sufficient to operate phones, computers, and other office equipment. The position requires the physical ability to kneel, bend and perform light lifting. This person must have the ability to write and speak clearly using the English language to convey information and be able to hear at normal speaking levels both in person and over the telephone. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
