Evergreen Habitat is seeking a detail-oriented and mission-driven Accounting Coordinator to support the financial integrity of the organization. This position plays a key role in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting general accounting functions. Working closely with the both the Finance Manager and Director, the Accounting Coordinator helps ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, compliance with nonprofit accounting standards, and strong stewardship of organizational resources. The ideal candidate is organized, collaborative, and committed to supporting the operational functions that help Evergreen Habitat thrive.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Review and process vendor invoices for accuracy, coding, approvals, and supporting documentation Post invoices, monitoring payment deadlines to ensure timely and accurate vendor payments Communicate with vendors regarding invoices, payment status, and account inquiries Manage credit card transactions, including collecting receipts and approvals, and accurately coding and posting charges Record incoming revenue, including donations, mortgage payments, store sales and other program income Assist with monthly and year-end closing processes, including reconciling bank accounts, credit cards, and other balance sheet accounts Maintain organized digital and physical files Education and Experience Associate or bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred 2-3 years of accounting, bookkeeping, or nonprofit administrative experience preferredRequired Skills and Competencies:
Dedication to and ability to articulate the mission and core values of Habitat for Humanity. Self-motivated with strong problem-solving, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines Proficiency in accounting software and spreadsheets (Excel or equivalent) Ability to maintain confidentiality with financial and personnel information Familiarity with nonprofit financial practices and restricted fund tracking Demonstrated ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams Strong written and verbal communication skillsGeneral Work Schedule:
40 hours/week Flexible work schedule including hybrid work from home opportunities Office hours: 9am-5pmMonday-Friday Work Environment and Physical Demands:

Salaried at $42,000 annually, dependent on experience and skills. Benefits include paid medical and dental insurance, paid holidays, retirement contributions, paid time off, and a flexible work schedule with hybrid work from home opportunities.COVID-19
