Description We are looking for an Accounting Specialist to support day-to-day financial operations for a long-term contract opportunity in Santa Monica. This role can be fully remote for the right person, and the hours range from 20-40 per week. This role is ideal for someone who is comfortable managing payables, receivables, billing activity, and account reconciliation in a fast-paced environment. The selected candidate will help maintain accurate financial records, process transactions efficiently, and contribute to the overall effectiveness of the accounting function. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with expense reconciliation. Previous experience with Expensify and Emburse is ideal.
Responsibilities:
- Process vendor invoices, review payment details for accuracy, and ensure timely completion of accounts payable activities.
- Manage incoming payments, apply cash receipts correctly, and follow up on outstanding balances as part of accounts receivable support.
- Prepare and issue customer invoices while maintaining billing records and resolving discrepancies when needed.
- Reconcile account balances and investigate variances to help keep financial information accurate and up to date.
- Support general accounting tasks, including maintaining documentation and assisting with routine financial reporting activities.
- Use tools such as Expensify and Concur to review, track, and manage employee expense submissions and related records.
- Coordinate with internal teams to address transaction questions, improve record accuracy, and support efficient accounting workflows. Requirements
- Experience handling both accounts payable and accounts receivable responsibilities in an accounting setting that requires strong attention to detail.
- Working knowledge of billing processes, payment tracking, and account reconciliation practices.
- Familiarity with core accounting operations and maintaining accurate financial documentation.
- Hands-on experience using Expensify, Concur Expense, or Concur for expense and transaction management.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify discrepancies and resolve issues efficiently.
- Proficiency in organizing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines in a high-volume environment.
- Clear communication skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
