Accounting Specialist - Hybrid in Richmond, VA

Position Summary The Accounting Specialist supports daily accounting operations by maintaining accurate financial records and helping ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with strong analytical skills, advanced Excel knowledge, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Please note:
This is a Hybrid position, working some days from our West Creek office location and some days working from home in the Richmond, VA area. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Process daily payments and ensure timely, accurate recording of transactions. Prepare and post journal entries and other accounting transactions. Manage unclaimed property reporting and related compliance requirements. Prepare and file sales and use tax returns. Maintain fixed asset records, including additions, disposals, and depreciation tracking. Perform banking activities, including account reconciliations and transaction reviews. Review and monitor corporate credit card activity for accuracy and policy compliance. Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies and transaction issues. Assist with month-end and year-end close. Support audits and provide documentation as needed. Qualifications Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent work experience. Accounting experience required; experience in a multi-entity environment is a plus. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis. Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting. Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines. High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
