Accounts Payable Specialist Location:

Full-Time We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join a growing finance team in Wall, NJ. This hybrid opportunity is ideal for an experienced AP professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, improving processes, and taking ownership of the full accounts payable cycle. Key Responsibilities Process vendor invoices and employee expense reimbursements accurately and efficiently. Prepare and process payments via check, ACH, and other electronic payment methods. Investigate and resolve invoice discrepancies, payment issues, and vendor inquiries. Maintain vendor records and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures. Complete account reconciliations, including bank and clearing/suspense accounts. Prepare and post journal entries related to accounts payable activities. Manage 1099 reporting and W-9 documentation requirements. Analyze accounts payable and expense data to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for cost savings. Assist with process improvement initiatives, workflow enhancements, and AP automation efforts. Develop and maintain standard operating procedures and process documentation. Collaborate with internal departments and external vendors to ensure timely resolution of issues. Qualifications Associate degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or related field; equivalent experience will also be considered. 4+ years of Accounts Payable experience, preferably within a financial services, banking, or corporate environment. Experience with AP automation platforms such as Concur or similar expense and invoice management systems. Strong understanding of accounts payable processes, reconciliations, and general accounting principles. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications. Experience preparing journal entries and supporting month-end close activities. Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with vendors, management, and internal stakeholders.
