Accounts Receivable Specialist

The Santa Barbara Fish Market has been providing the community with fresh local seafood for over 20 years. We want our passion for what we do to shine through in every aspect of our work. We are looking for a motivated individual to join our accounting team, specializing in Accounts Receivable (A/R). In this role, you will take ownership of A/R processes, ensuring smooth financial operations and contributing to the company's overall financial health. Strong math skills and a willingness to learn are essential, and we're happy to provide on-the-job training. Experience with Microsoft Excel is a plus.

Key Responsibilities:

Process and apply payments to customer accounts (check, cash, and credit card) Prepare bank deposits Track and update AR aging daily Communicate with customers regarding unpaid account balances Send customer statements Reconcile accounts daily, identify and resolve discrepancies Other miscellaneous admin tasks and projects Conduct bank reconciliations Assist in the month-end close process Report sales tax Experience in

AR, QuickBooks, and Excel/Google Sheets Pay:

The starting rate for this position is $33/hour. Please note, this is a starting point and the final rate will depend on qualifications, experience, and demonstrated expertise. We are open to competitive compensation for the right person.
