Job Description
Overview Our association of 65 United Church of Christ congregations is seeking a Bookkeeper we can rely on to maintain, coordinate, and prepare financial records, reports, and documents related to our finances. Duties Include but Are not Limited to: Manage the bookkeeping of NWOA, following our fiscal policies and procedures. Provide detailed financial reports in a timely fashion every month to or when requested by the Association leadership. Prepare a detailed report of finances for our Annual Meeting. Provide necessary financial records needed for professional financial reviews or audits. Work with Association leadership to prepare a yearly budget presented at our Annual Meeting. Backup financial records/system regularly. Run payroll for Association staff (currently 3 employees). Prepare checks for the payment of invoices and bills. Make payments of payroll withholding taxes (Federal, State, and Local) and take care of required payroll tax forms for the respective government agencies. Prepare and distribute financial contributions in a timely manner and supply individual churches/donors with a record of their previous year financial support each January. Create list of churches/donors eligible for "5 for 5" certificates at the Annual Meeting. Maintain document(s) listing where all monies are held. Prepare all tax forms for NWOA staff by deadline. Enter all financial information in the Association's Fund Accounting software. Attend special meetings regarding finances as requested. Oversee financial registration procedures and receive offerings. Other duties as requested by the Association Minister. Financial Reporting Prepare financial reports for Finance Committee which include but not limited to: Reconciled bank statement Check Register Deposit slips Staff payroll records Documentation of all checks written
