Full Job Description Job Posting:
Bookkeeper Role Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Bookkeeper to join our dynamic finance team. In this role, you will manage financial records, ensure transaction accuracy, and support our organization's overall financial health. You will play an instrumental part in maintaining compliance with GAAP , governmental accounting standards, and internal controls like SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) .This position offers a hybrid work schedule with an exciting opportunity to utilize a variety of financial software and systems.
Key Responsibilities QuickBooks Ownership:
Record, classify, and manage bank feeds/transactions across QuickBooks Online and Desktop.
Month-End Close:
Reconcile bank, credit card, loan, and payroll clearing accounts.
General Ledger Management:
Tie subledgers to the general ledger and post adjusting entries.
Tax Compliance:
Calculate monthly sales, use, and meals tax, file returns, and schedule payments per state guidelines. 1099
Vendor Management:
Maintain active 1099 vendor data and support year-end 1099 filings.
Controls & Documentation:
Maintain standardized workpapers, audit coding accuracy, and document internal positions.
Client & Tax Support:
Gather documents, resolve client discrepancies, and prepare clean trial balances for timely income filings.
Job Requirements Experience:
10+ years of recent bookkeeping experience in industry or public practice.
Software:
Advanced proficiency in both QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Desktop.
Tax Expertise:
Hands-on experience processing sales tax, use tax, and meals tax.
Education:
High school diploma required; accounting coursework or a 2-to-4-year degree is highly preferred.
Core Skills:
Clear written communication, strong prioritization skills, and the ability to work independently or collboratively.
