The Bookkeeper manages the company's day-to-day accounting and payroll functions to ensure financial accuracy and compliance. Key responsibilities include processing and managing the company's payroll, accounts receivable, accounts payable, bank reconciliations, petty cash, invoices and sales receipts, and all Medicaid billing. This role requires close collaboration with internal leadership and external partners to maintain precise documentation and resolve financial discrepancies. You will run reports and track employee hours to verify how many hours each employee has worked. Attention to detail and accuracy are vital to ensure that all employees' time records are accurate, submitted, and approved on time. You will track data, maintain records, and generate reports to ensure that revenue and expenses are accurately recorded, employee payroll is accurately processed, and all other documentation for each employee is up-to-date. If there is a discrepancy, you will identify the problem and resolve it, which may include correcting billing errors. Benefits:

The bookkeeper must have at least a high school diploma and two years of experience performing quality accounting and payroll work; a bachelor's degree in accounting or finance management is preferred. The bookkeeper must be proficient in using QuickBooks Online to manage payroll and financials; QuickBooks ProAdvisor certification is a plus. Specific Qualifications:
The Bookkeeper must provide evidence of the following skills and proficiencies: Must be accurate in all areas of accounting. Must be proficient in QuickBooks, Google Workspace, and Microsoft, as well as capable of quickly learning and managing additional specialized internal databases. Capable of maintaining consistent professionalism and confidentiality. A strong sense of urgency and a track record of meeting deadlines while maintaining database, manual filing, and payroll system accuracy. Professional organization and communication skills, as well as the ability to manage staff and accounting projects efficiently. Expertise in Medicaid billing, Accel, and other databases, or the ability to quickly learn their complexities. Stay up to date on Department of Employment and Labor laws and processes. Major Duties:
The major duties of the Bookkeeper include, but are not limited to: Execute daily accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) functions. Perform monthly bank reconciliations to maintain accurate ledger balances. Reconcile vendor and internal invoices before issuing payments. Process Medicaid billing and manage associated client invoices. Investigate, troubleshoot, and correct billing errors or data discrepancies. Process payroll for all staff. Track hours and verify timekeeping information for all employees. Calculate wages according to hours worked, incorporating PTO. Prepare and submit reports with payroll information, accounts payable, and accounts receivable to the executive leadership and accounting firm. Investigate and resolve any payroll and billing discrepancies. Keep track of changes in salaries, pay raises, shift payments, and overtime compensation and apply accordingly. Ensure that paychecks have been issued correctly and on time. Keep track of and report employees' withholding deductions and benefits: This includes taxes, insurance, benefits, garnishments, and levies. Maintain payroll records, keeping them up-to-date, and checking for any potential time-fraud reporting. Help employees with issues related to timesheets, payslips, and other payroll matters. Adjusting systems as needed to stay up to date with changes in payroll regulations and adjust payroll systems and processes accordingly. Responsibilities :
Maintain accuracy and timeliness of payroll and all electronic and manual files. Confidently handle sensitive information. Consistently communicate with the CEO about any issues concerning bookkeeping. Accurately check all open invoices related to payroll. Ability to work independently in a time-sensitive environment.
