Duties Manage daily bookkeeping activities including data entry of journal entries, accounts payable, and accounts receivable transactions Reconcile bank statements, general ledger accounts, and balance sheets to ensure accuracy and completeness Prepare financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, Quicken, and other financial tools to record and analyze financial data Perform account analysis and account reconciliation to identify discrepancies and resolve issues promptly Assist with payroll processing, tax filings, and compliance requirements for non-profit or governmental organizations Support budgeting processes by tracking expenses and preparing variance reports for management review Qualifications Proven experience with bookkeeping or accounting roles in corporate or non-profit settings Strong proficiency in accounting software including QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, Quicken, and other financial systems Solid understanding of GAAP standards, double-entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, journal entries, and general ledger accounting Experience with bank reconciliation, account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and general ledger reconciliation Knowledge of governmental accounting practices and tax experience is a plus Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills; ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently Familiarity with budgeting processes and financial report writing Ability to perform 10 key typing accurately and efficiently; strong numerical aptitude Effective communication skills to collaborate across departments and prepare clear financial documentation Join us as a Bookkeeper and become an essential part of our mission to maintain transparent financial operations while supporting our organization's growth.
