Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Bookkeeper to join our non profit. In this vital role, you will manage the day-to-day financial record-keeping processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards. Your expertise will support the organization's financial health by maintaining precise records, reconciling accounts, and assisting with financial reporting. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a mission-driven organization that values integrity, accuracy, and efficiency. Responsibilities Maintain and update financial records using accounting software - QuickBooks Online, Process payroll and manage accounts payable and accounts receivable to ensure timely payments and collections. Perform bank reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations, and general ledger accounting to ensure data accuracy. Prepare journal entries, account analysis, and double-entry bookkeeping entries following GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) standards. Assist with budgeting processes and monitor financial transactions for compliance with organizational policies. Conduct account reconciliation activities including bank reconciliation and general ledger reconciliation to identify discrepancies. Generate detailed financial reports, including financial statement writing, for internal review and external reporting purposes. Experience Proven bookkeeping experience with a strong understanding of accounting concepts such as debits & credits, journal entries, and account analysis. Hands-on experience using QuickBooks Online, Knowledge of corporate accounting practices as well as non-profit accounting is highly desirable. Familiarity with public accounting principles and standards such as GAAP is essential. Demonstrated ability to perform account reconciliation tasks like bank reconciliation and general ledger reconciliation accurately. $27.31 - $32.89 per hour
