Controller / Bookkeeper Rapley Millwork Company, Inc Rosemead, CA Job Details Part-time $26.93 - $32.43 an hour 8 hours ago Qualifications Contractor management Attention to detail QuickBooks Organizational skills Project management software Full Job Description Job Summary We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Controller/Bookkeeper to oversee the financial health of our custom millwork business. In this role, you will manage day-to-day accounting, ensure regulatory compliance, handle subcontractor administration, and provide critical financial forecasting to support our growth. The ideal candidate has experience in the construction or manufacturing sector and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities Accounts Receivable & Payable:
Generate and track client invoices, follow up on collections, pay company expenses, and manage cash flow.
Account Reconciliation:
Perform monthly reconciliation of bank accounts, credit cards, and loan statements.
Subcontractor & Vendor Management:
Issue and track subcontracts, verify lien waivers, and process vendor payments accurately and on time.
Compliance & Insurance:
Maintain up-to-date certificates of insurance (COI), manage annual workers' comp and general liability audits, and ensure business compliance.
Tax Reporting:
Prepare and file monthly/quarterly sales tax reports, payroll taxes, and coordinate with our CPA for year-end tax preparation.
Financial Forecasting:
Analyze financial data, prepare monthly profit and loss (P&L) statements, and collaborate with leadership on budgeting and forecasting. Qualifications Proven experience as a Bookkeeper, Controller, or Full-Charge Bookkeeper (experience in construction, millwork, or trade contracting is highly preferred). Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks Desktop/Online) and project management tools. Strong understanding of progress billing, AIA documentation, and job costing. Excellent organizational skills and sharp attention to detail.
Pay:
$26.93 - $32.43 per hour
