Full Job Description Payroll & Accounts Payable Specialist Pay:
$21.50-$23.00/hour
Schedule:
Hybrid, 2-3 days in office per week A growing organization in the medical billing services industry is seeking a Payroll & Accounts Payable Specialist to join its finance team in Syracuse, NY. This is a great opportunity for someone with payroll and AP experience who is organized, detail-oriented, and looking for a flexible, supportive work environment. This role will support payroll and accounts payable functions for a medical practice client and will work closely with the Controller and finance team. The ideal candidate has at least one year of payroll experience, solid Excel skills, and the ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion. ADP Workforce Now experience is preferred but not required. What You'll Do Process payroll for fewer than 100 employees Handle accounts payable processing Assist with client invoicing, AR, general ledger maintenance, and reporting Review and analyze payroll, AP, AR, and vendor/client contract information Maintain accurate records and ensure deadlines are met Support monthly reporting, year-end close, 401(k) audits, and other finance-related projects Communicate professionally with internal team members, clients, and vendors What We're Looking For At least 1 year of payroll and Accounts Payable experience required Moderate Excel skills High school diploma required; Associate degree in Accounting or Finance preferred Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to multitask and prioritize work effectively Professional written and verbal communication skills Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately ADP Workforce Now experience is a plus Schedule & Work Environment Hybrid schedule with 2-3 days per week in office Additional in-office time may be needed during training Employees may choose an 8-hour or 9-hour schedule; 9-hour schedule may allow for every other Friday off Some flexibility is available once a schedule is established Why This Role Stands Out Flexible hybrid schedule Supportive, collaborative finance team Stable organization with continued growth Every other Friday off option with a 9-hour schedule Industry-specific experience is not required Opportunity to grow payroll and accounting skills in a professional environment For immediate consideration, please submit your resume to .
