Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Part-Time Bookkeeper with a passion for accurate financial management and a preference for bilingual (Spanish) communication. This role offers an exciting opportunity to support organizations by maintaining precise financial records, reconciling accounts, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. The ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic environment, demonstrating strong technical skills and a proactive approach to bookkeeping tasks. This position involves working approximately 20 to 25 hours per week, providing flexibility while contributing significantly to the organization's financial health. Responsibilities Manage and maintain accurate financial records using an accounting software. Perform bank reconciliations and general ledger account reconciliations to ensure data accuracy. Prepare and record journal entries, including debits and credits, in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles). Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable processes efficiently, ensuring timely payments and collections. Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and account analysis to identify discrepancies or errors. Assist with payroll processing, tax filings, and governmental accounting requirements as needed. Generate detailed financial reports and budget analysis. Support double entry bookkeeping practices, ensuring all transactions are properly documented within the general ledger. Perform account analysis and general ledger reconciliation regularly to maintain accurate financial data. Contribute to budgeting processes by providing relevant financial insights and data analysis. Experience Proven experience working with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar platforms. Strong understanding of corporate accounting principles, including GAAP standards. Familiarity with bank reconciliation, account reconciliation, journal entries, and balance sheet reconciliation processes. Knowledge of technical accounting concepts such as double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, and general ledger accounting. Prior experience in accounting or supporting financial report writing is advantageous. Ability to perform 10 key typing accurately for data entry tasks. Demonstrated competence in handling accounts payable/receivable, payroll processing, and tax-related activities.
