Department NSU-Controller Physical Location of Position (City) Aberdeen Posting Text Northern State University is seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to support operations within the finance department. This role assists with purchasing, accounts payable/receivable, reconciliations, and campus-wide training on purchasing systems. Key Responsibilities Assist with purchase orders, requisitions, and vendor coordination Process invoices and resolve discrepancies Track expenditures and maintain financial records Support AP/AR and monthly credit card reconciliations Assist with journal vouchers and financial reporting Train faculty/staff on the state's purchasing system Ensure purchases comply with state laws and institutional policies Qualifications Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field preferred 1-3 years of relevant experience in purchasing or finance Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Proficient in Microsoft Excel Full-time position with excellent benefits including; full health benefits, three weeks' paid vacation, 11 paid holidays, a retirement plan.
