Job Description

Overview Petworks Animal Shelter is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Part-Time Bookkeeper to support our nonprofit organization's financial operations. This position offers the opportunity to apply your nonprofit accounting skills in a meaningful environment, ensuring transparency and compliance with nonprofit financial standards. The ideal candidate is organized, experienced with nonprofit accounting while using QuickBooks online software, and has a genuine love for animals. Responsibilities Financial Recordkeeping Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including accounts payable and receivable. Record daily donations and transactions related to animal adoptions, etc. using QuickBooks online. Reconcile bank and credit card statements regularly. Accounts Payable & Receivable Process payable invoices, payments, and reimbursements in a timely manner. Track incoming donations, adoption fees, and other revenue sources. Assist with receivable invoices and payment tracking for events as needed. Donor & Nonprofit Tracking Maintain donor and contribution records using Little Green Light. Assist with tracking restricted and unrestricted funds. Ensure proper documentation for donations and grants. Reporting & Support Prepare basic financial reports for leadership. Assist with budget tracking and expense monitoring. Provide documentation for audits or tax preparation when needed. Qualifications 2+ years of nonprofit bookkeeping or accounting experience. Proficiency in QuickBooks Online required. Experience with Little Green Light or similar donor management systems Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to manage confidential financial information with integrity. Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work independently. A genuine love for animals and support for the shelter's mission.
