Position Overview DFX is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Accounts Payable & Accounting Specialist to join our growing team. This role plays a critical part in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our financial operations. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and the ability to manage multiple accounting functions in a fast-paced environment. This position is responsible for overseeing accounts payable processes, supporting general ledger activities, maintaining accurate financial records, and assisting with day-to-day accounting operations. The right candidate will have prior QuickBooks experience, a strong understanding of accounting principles, and a commitment to accuracy and confidentiality. Key Responsibilities Accurately process high-volume accounts payable invoices, vendor payments, and daily accounting transactions exceeding 500 transactions weekly Perform heavy data entry with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency Maintain precise and organized records of all financial activity Perform reconciliations including vendor statements, credit card transactions, bank accounts, and other balance sheet accounts Assist with general ledger maintenance, journal entries, and month-end processes Ensure accurate coding and allocation of expenses Support construction job costing processes and maintain accurate job cost tracking Support accounts receivable and other accounting functions as needed Assist with processing bi-weekly payroll Assist with onboarding and offboarding processes from an accounting and administrative perspective Ensure compliance with vendors, internal departments, and leadership regarding financial matters Support additional accounting and administrative projects as assigned Compensation & Benefits Competitive pay based on experience and qualifications Health, dental, and vision insurance Supplemental insurance options including life insurance 401(k) with company match Paid time off Supportive, team-oriented environment with accessible leadership Qualifications Required Proven experience in accounts payable, bookkeeping, or accounting support roles Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial regulations, reconciliations, and general ledger functions Experience with QuickBooks Experience handling high-volume transaction processing and heavy data entry Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across departments Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment Preferred Experience with construction job costing Prior experience in the construction and/or home services Self-motivated with a proactive mindset Strong problem solving and analytical skills Ability to work independently while contributing to a team-oriented environment
