Full Charge Bookkeeper Austin American Technology Full Charge Bookkeeper Job Description Position Description We are looking for an experienced Full Charge Bookkeeper to manage our accounting department within our 40-year-old company. The Full Charge Bookkeeper is responsible for all bookkeeping and accounting responsibilities related to our business, as well as integrating with our Accounting and ERP systems. The Full Charge Bookkeeper will assist with purchasing needs from time to time, handle quarterly and year end financials, and work closely with outside accountants. They will also fulfill service parts orders occasionally, answer incoming phone calls, order office supplies, manage our HR for new hires and employee inquires. The Full Charge Bookkeeper will also process payroll, provide an accurate cash flow weekly, and assist with any other duties assigned by management. Their role is essential in maintaining a healthy company with timely and correct financial reports for management and the board members. Essential Duties and Responsibilities of a Full Charge Bookkeeper Preparing financial statements, including weekly Cash Flow forecasting. Processing accounts payable and accounts receivable Organizing/filing of receipts, invoices, and physical copies of financial documents Managing bank and general ledger reconciliations, as well as payroll processing Preparing quarterly tax filings Performing month-end and quarter-end closings Preparing the trial balance Maintaining compliance with financial reporting regulations, such as the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) Supervising accounting clerks and entry-level bookkeepers
  • Electronic filing and general office duties
  • Various administrative duties Interface with other departments regarding new business initiatives, including assessing the accounting treatment, reporting/regulatory disclosures, internal control implications, and systems impacts Provide financial analysis and reporting to support strategic decision-making.
Assist in the implementation of appropriate internal controls and process improvements Interact directly with the independent auditors to discuss and resolve accounting issues in a timely manner and facilitate the completion of our reviews and audits The Ideal Team Player Will Have
  • Competency to balance numerous tasks effectively, while needing limited direction
  • Must be very proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and QuickBooks.
  • 15 years of relevant bookkeeping experience and at least five years of current experience.
  • Ability to be detail oriented with excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Critical thinking skills required with analytical skills to identify errors or discrepancies
  • Strong grammar skills, and articulate with telephone and electronic mail
  • Able to prioritize, manage and meet competing deadlines
  • Able to follow procedures
  • Capability of having the utmost discretion and confidentiality Education and Experience High school diploma or GED is required, College preferred.
QuickBooks experience required and ERP system experience is preferred. 5+ Years as a Full Charge Bookkeeper Work Environment Workday is a standard 8 hours, and is spent in an office setting. The position involves a minimal amount of physical labor, but regular lifting, standing, and movement around the office is necessary. Salary/Benefits Salary for the Full Charge Bookkeeper range from $50,000 to $65,000 per year, dependent on experience. Benefits include Paid Holidays; Paid Time off; Health, Vision, and Dental Insurance and 401k.
