Full Charge Bookkeeper - Commercial Real Estate & Construction El Paso Texas Full-Time Position About Us The Heritage Group is an established commercial real estate management and construction company serving the southwest. We manage a portfolio of commercial properties and construct a diverse range of commercial properties. Position Summary We are seeking an experienced, highly organized Full Charge Bookkeeper to take full ownership of our day-to-day accounting operations. This is a hands-on role for a detail-oriented professional who can manage the books from start to finish — entering transactions, reconciling accounts, producing financial reports, and supporting ownership with clean, accurate numbers. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, understands the unique demands of real estate and construction accounting, and is fluent in QuickBooks. Key Responsibilities Maintain complete general ledger and oversee all daily accounting activity across multiple entities and properties Perform monthly bank, credit card, and loan statement reconciliations Process accounts payable and accounts receivable, including vendor payments, tenant invoicing, and rent roll management Track and reconcile construction job costs, including subcontractor payments, lien waivers, and AIA-style draws Manage payroll processing and related tax filings (or coordinate with outside payroll service) Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow) by entity and property Maintain CAM reconciliations, tenant ledgers, security deposits, and lease-related accounting Track fixed assets, depreciation schedules, and intercompany transactions File and remit sales/use tax, 1099s, and other required filings Work directly with the CPA at year-end to prepare clean books for tax return preparation Maintain organized, audit-ready financial records and documentation Required Qualifications 5+ years of full charge bookkeeping experience (commercial real estate and/or construction strongly preferred) Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks (Desktop and/or Online) Understanding of AI systems integration Experience with multi-entity bookkeeping and intercompany transactions Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines independently Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, formulas) High level of accuracy, discretion, and integrity with confidential financial information Professional communication skills with vendors, tenants, and ownership Preferred Qualifications Experience with job costing in a construction environment Experience with QuickBooks Familiarity with property management software (Rent Manager or Yardi) Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field at minimum What We Offer Competitive salary based on experience Paid time off and holidays Collaborative, professional work environment How to Apply Submit your resume and a brief cover letter through Indeed.
