Job Description
The Accounting Assistant is responsible for supporting the accounting department by processing vehicle deal paperwork, registering contracts, performing general administrative duties, and providing backup reception coverage as needed. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, excellent customer service, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Review, organize, and strip vehicle deals for processing, ensuring all required documentation is complete and accurate. Register contracts and process related paperwork in accordance with company policies and lender requirements. Assist with daily accounting functions, filing, scanning, data entry, and document management. Maintain accurate records and ensure timely completion of assigned tasks. Communicate professionally with internal departments, lenders, and customers when necessary. Provide backup receptionist coverage, including: Greeting customers and visitors. Answering and directing incoming phone calls. Assisting customers and notifying appropriate personnel of arrivals. Performing general front office administrative duties. Assist with additional accounting and administrative projects as assigned. Qualifications Previous accounting, bookkeeping, dealership, or administrative experience preferred. Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and dealership management software (preferred). Excellent organizational and time management skills. High level of accuracy and attention to detail. Ability to maintain confidentiality of financial and customer information. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Physical Requirements Ability to sit for extended periods. Occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Ability to use standard office equipment, including computers, phones, scanners, and copiers. Work Schedule This position is primarily scheduled during regular business hours; however, working Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. is a required part of the regular work schedule rotation. Additional hours may be required based on business needs.
