The right person takes ownership of the numbers, follows through on details, protects confidential information, and understands that accurate bookkeeping supports customers, employees, vendors, and the long-term health of the company. JRSS has served East Texas homeowners and businesses since 1996 through septic, sanitation, grease‑trap, and roll‑off dumpster services. This is an opportunity to perform meaningful, visible work for an established local company. What You'll Do Manage daily bookkeeping and general‑ledger activity in QuickBooks Online Process accounts receivable, customer payments, collections follow‑up, credits, and deposits Process accounts payable, vendor bills, payment batches, statements, credits, and vendor records Process payroll accurately and on schedule; reconcile payroll registers, tax liabilities, benefit deductions, and payroll‑related general‑ledger accounts Prepare periodic sales‑tax filings and maintain clear supporting schedules and documentation Reconcile bank, credit‑card, merchant, payroll, loan, and other balance‑sheet accounts Keep ServiceTitan and QuickBooks Online activity aligned; investigate mapping, timing, import, fee, refund, and duplication issues Prepare monthly financial reports (balance sheet, profit and loss, cash‑flow information, AR/AP aging, and management schedules) Analyze financial and operational data, explain material variances, and identify trends or exceptions Support month‑end and year‑end close and provide organized records to management and outside accounting professionals Document and improve accounting procedures while respecting approval limits and internal controls What We're Looking For Three or more years of progressively responsible bookkeeping or accounting experience Strong, demonstrable QuickBooks Online proficiency Hands‑on experience with AR, AP, deposits, payroll, payroll reconciliation, sales‑tax filings, bank reconciliations, journal entries, month‑end close, and monthly financial reporting Working knowledge of debits, credits, accrual concepts, balance‑sheet accounts, and income‑statement classification Intermediate or better Excel skills (formulas, filters, lookups, pivot tables, reconciliation worksheets) Ability to investigate discrepancies and carry issues through to documented resolution Accuracy, discretion, initiative, strong communication, and dependable follow‑through Availability to work full‑time on‑site in Murchison, Texas Preferred Qualifications ServiceTitan accounting or operational experience QuickBooks Online ProAdvisor certification Experience in home services, field services, construction, waste management, trucking, sanitation, or related industries Associate or bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business Experience with job costing, class/location reporting, dashboards, or management analysis Qualified candidates will complete a structured interview and a short, job‑related bookkeeping exercise using fictional information.
Pay:
$20.00 - $23.00 per hour Expected hours: 30.0 - 40.0 per week Application Question(s): Do you have any experience using ServiceTitan software?
