Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and energetic Bookkeeper to join our dynamic finance team. In this vital role, you will manage and maintain accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and supporting the organization's financial health. Your expertise in various accounting software and systems will help streamline processes, prepare financial reports, and facilitate smooth day-to-day operations. Duties Record and process journal entries, including debits and credits, to ensure accurate ledger updates in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) Reconcile bank statements and perform general ledger reconciliation to verify account balances and identify discrepancies Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections Prepare financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements for internal review and external reporting Maintain and update financial software such as QuickBooks Online, Xero, Sage, or other accounting systems used by the organization Conduct payroll processing accurately using appropriate payroll software while ensuring compliance with relevant regulations Perform account analysis, bank reconciliation, and account reconciliation to uphold data integrity Assist with budgeting processes by providing relevant financial data and analysis Support non-profit or corporate accounting functions as needed with detailed record-keeping and reporting Utilize spreadsheets for data entry, analysis, and reporting purposes with proficiency in 10-key typing for efficiency Experience Proven bookkeeping experience with a strong understanding of double entry bookkeeping principles Hands-on experience using popular accounting software such as QuickBooks (including QuickBooks Online), Xero, Sage, or similar platforms Knowledge of accounting standards (GAAP) and financial concepts essential for accurate record-keeping Demonstrated ability to perform bank reconciliations, account analysis, journal entries, and general ledger reconciliation effectively Experience working within corporate or non-profit accounting environments preferred Familiarity with payroll processing procedures and accounts payable/receivable management required Strong skills in spreadsheets, financial report writing, and account reconciliation techniques Ability to handle sensitive financial information with confidentiality and professionalism Join us if you're passionate about maintaining precise financial records that support organizational success!
