As the Financial Assistant, you will be responsible for duties assigned by the Director of Finance and Administration.RESPONSIBILITIES/TASKS
NOTE:

Such attachments normally reflect unique aspects of specific locations, shifts, departments, etc. The Financial Assistant is a full-time position for 8 hours per day on Monday thru Friday. The Financial Assistant will assist the Director of Finance & Administration with various business-related matters. The duties may include completion of or the assistance in completing the following: Receive receipts and reconcile credit card accounts. Receive and enter incoming bills into Blackbaud accounting software. Providing supporting documents for payment of invoices. Maintain the timely payment of invoices. Create and set up vendor accounts. Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures related to process of invoices. Maintain accounts payable files. Assist with a timely year end audit. Input of deposits into general ledger. Prepare and process electronic payments and checks for signature. Investigate inquiries regarding discrepancies of vendor accounts. Reconcile invoices to monthly statements and file all invoices. Assist with journal entries. Prepare annual tax documents (1099's). Assist with daily banking and accounting tasks. Assist with monthly, quarterly and year end closing tasks. Perform general office tasks as required. Accurately prepare and proofread letters, memos, spreadsheets and other correspondence daily; answer phones, take messages and respond to voicemail and email messages in a timely manner. Work successfully as part of a team and be responsible for developing and maintaining strong working relationships with co-workers in the department. Attend and participate in staff meetings and training as required. Perform special assignments, projects, and other duties as required. Numbers 1-16 are considered Primary Duties for this job.POSITION EXPERIENCE & ABILITIES

Bachelor's Degree in a related field of study is required. Strong organization and prioritization skills needed. Requires a familiarity with accounting software and principles. Requires proficient ability to speak, read, and write in English. Proficient ability to speak, read and write in Spanish is preferred. Requires proficient ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions dealing with abstract variables. Requires a strong sense of diplomacy and demonstrated success in developing strong collaborative relationships with organizational peers and outside colleagues. Requires recognized ability to meet multiple deadlines by maintaining a high level of organization. Ability to minimize risk to the University. Requires ability to maintain confidentiality. Requires proficient ability to exhibit detail-oriented skills necessary to understand and manage a wide-range of information. Proficient working knowledge and ability to accurately operate and perform computer related tasks with specific equipment and software applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook is required. Requires professional commitment to Christian principles and teachings so as to perform tasks and responsibilities in alignment with BUA's mission and vision. Requires ability to speak clearly and make self understood in face-to face interactions; to articulate with extreme accuracy and precision to give directions, speak on the phone, etc. Requires ability to communicate professionally and effectively orally and in writing. Requires ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, trustees, vendors, students, families. Requires ability to effectively work under pressure and remain flexible as priorities change. Requires ability to work under minimal supervision with sound judgment Requires sufficiently good health to properly discharge duties.
