Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Part Time Administrative Assistant/Bookkeeper to join our team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to support our administrative and financial operations, ensuring smooth daily functions and accurate financial record-keeping. The ideal candidate will be proactive, organized, and possess a strong foundation in software systems. This position is perfect for someone looking to contribute to a 45 year old mission-driven retail store while honing their bookkeeping and administrative skills in a flexible, part-time capacity. Responsibilities Manage our bookkeeping tasks including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and journal entries using QuikBooks accounting software. Process payroll weekly while adhering to relevant tax regulations and payroll processing procedures. Prepare some financial reports, statements, and summaries to support organizational decision-making and external reporting requirements. Qualifications Proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles with familiarity in accounting systems such as QuickBooks. Strong knowledge of accounting concepts including debits & credits, double entry bookkeeping, journal entries, and account reconciliation. Proficiency in spreadsheets (Excel) for data analysis and report writing. Ability to perform bank reconciliations accurately and efficiently while maintaining attention to detail. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with incoming calls, team members and vendors.
