Job Description:
The Accounts Payable Clerk will perform routine, repetitive clerical/accounting tasks in general accounting, accounts payable, or related financial area. Posts journal entries, processes payments, verifies information, files and prepares accounting reports. Performs other tasks as required.
ESSENTAIL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Matches, batches and processes accounts payable invoices, including weekly check runs Prepares journal entries Prepares accruals journal entries for invoices not processed in the month Computes, records activity, and reconciles various general ledger accounts. Compiles and prepares accounting reports. Files and maintains financial records. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and
ABILITIES
Knowledge of basic accounting principles Attention to detail is vital Ability to type sufficiently to meet the needs of the department Ability to use a 10-key calculator by touch Ability to maintain confidentiality Ability to prepare Excel Spreadsheets. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and written.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS EDUCATION
High School Graduate or
GED EXPERIENCE
1 year experience
